Devotion 1 of 2: Gen 10

Let’s look at some of the descendants of Japheth, Ham and Shem in this chapter.
*Some of the sons of Japheth, like Magog, Tubal and Meshech, appear as Israel’s enemies to attack her in the endtime in Ezek 38:2.
*And some of Ham’s descendants are also identified as Israel’s enemies, like Canaan (v.6), Babel (v.10), and Assyria (v.11).
*Shem’s descendants can be linked to Israel and Jesus. In Luke’s genealogy of Jesus (Luke 3:23-38), we find names like Shem, Arphaxad (v.22), Salah (v.24, “Shelah” in Luke 3:35), Eber (v.24), and Peleg (v.25). And in Shem’s descendants in Gen 11:10-26 we find all the names after Peleg match Luke’s list perfectly!

Devotion 2 of 2: Gen 9

One spiritual lesson we can learn from the incident between Noah and his 3 sons is how we should deal with people’s sins or weaknesses. When Noah got drunk and fell asleep without clothes, Ham saw it and told his brothers about it (v.21-22). This was the wrong action to take. It would be like us seeing someone’s mistake or failure and exposing it to others.
