1) I think having a good testimony outside the church is important because if society doesn’t respect the bishop of the church, the church will not be an effective witness for Christ.
2) I think not being double-tongued is important because if he is, he will spread criticism and complaints, which will cause division in the church.

Devotion 2 of 2: Song 4
One interesting expression I find in this chapter is found in v.9, 10 and 12. It is the words, “My sister, my spouse!” The Shulamite represents the bride, which is the church, and Solomon represents Jesus. So we can interpret these words as Jesus calling the church his sister as well as his wife! Why? Because we are children of God and Jesus is also the Son of God, making him our older brother!
