Devotion 1 of 2: 2 Chron 29

In v.25-30, we see the restoration of worship in the temple. God is doing this work right now in the church! There is a world-wide restoration of praise that has transformed the worship of the church from singing old hymns to singing new praise and worship songs, many using lyrics from the Bible! As a result, joy and freedom have come into church services, and many people have been drawn into the exciting meetings where the Holy Spirit is working!

Devotion 2 of 2: 2 Chron 30

I was struck by how regulations were adjusted to meet the situation. One example was Passover was held in the 2nd month, not the 1st, as stated in the Law (v.2)! But there was a good reason. Not enough priests had consecrated themselves, and also the people hadn’t assembled in Jerusalem (v.3)! Another example is that many people, especially from the northern kingdom, had not cleansed themselves beforehand, yet they ate the Passover (v.18). But Hezekiah prayed for them and God heard him and healed them (v.18-20)! I believe this was a display of grace in the age of Law!
