Just as the Word of God destroyed mankind by the flood, so it will destroy mankind again in the last days, but this time it will be by fire (v.7)! The famous v.8 that to the Lord, 1 day = 1000 years and vice-versa comes here, during endtime teaching! This indicates that just as it took 7 days for creation and rest, so mankind’s Biblical history will last 6000 years and Jesus’ Kingdom will be 1000 years. V.10 says the day of the Lord will come like a thief, with the heavens passing away with a roar and the heavenly bodies burned up and dissolved, exposing the earth and its works! This day of the Lord appears to refer to after the Millennium, when the new heaven and earth will start! So there are many applications of the day of the Lord, and we must discern each situation.

Devotion 2 of 2: Jer 52

1) About 1 year and 6 months. This produced famine.
2) The prophecy that there would be no famine (Jer 5:12; 14:13-18).
3) Zedekiah’s sons were killed before his eyes (v.10) and his eyes were taken out (v.11).
4) Those who fear AC and believe they will escape through the pre-trib (PT) rapture will be left unprepared to face AC when the PT rapture doesn’t happen, and will suffer terribly!
