Devotion 1 of 2: Acts 17
1) a) Exodus 12 about the Passover lamb who was killed and its blood applied to the door posts which saved Israel from death and delivered them out of Egypt!
b) Gen 20 about Abraham offering Isaac but offering a substitute ram instead, showing God the Father being willing to offer his Son for mankind.
2) Paul started talking to the Athenians about their own culture and religion, referring to the altar to the Unknown God that he had found (v.23). He connected to their culture, history, religion, and to their need or something they didn’t know and was searching for!
3) We can use this method for evangelism in Japan by talking, especially to older people, about, “If there was a heaven after death, would they like to go there?” because almost everyone is afraid of dying and wonders what is on the other side!

Devotion 2 of 2: Jer 17
Jeremiah prayed in v.18, “Let them be ashamed who persecute me, but do not let me be put to shame; let them be dismayed, but do not let me be dismayed. Bring on them the day of doom, and destroy them with double destruction!” When antichrist persecutes the LDC, if we pray this prayer, God will answer and stop those who try to destroy us! I believe many of them will be saved! Praise God!
