1) Ishbosheth asked Abner why he slept with his father, King Saul’s concubine, and Abner got angry at that.
2) Abner decided to join with David (v.12).
3) Joab, David’s general (v.24-25).
4) Joab killed Abner because Abner had killed his brother Asahel in battle (v.30).
*Human relationships are very complicated and even a great leader like David couldn’t stop his top general, Joab, from murdering Abner!
