Devotion 1 of 2: 1 Thess 5
1) a) The day of the Lord will not overtake them as a thief (v.4).
b) They are watching and are sober (v.6).
c) God did not appoint them to wrath but to obtain salvation through Jesus (v.9).
2) a) The day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night and they shall not escape (v.2-3).
b) They are asleep (v.6).
c) They are drunk (v.7).

Devotion 2 of 2: Ps 140
This psalm is a prayer by David for deliverance from evil men. I will apply it to the tribulation period in our battle against antichrist. Just as David’s enemies were evil and violent (v.1) and prepared snares and traps to capture David (v.5), so antichrist will use his mark and image to trap people and violently kill many by beheading them (Rev 20:4)! But God will protect his people as David prayed (v.10) by casting their enemies into the fire for 3.5 years until they accomplish their mission of world revival! Yes, Lord, thank you for revival!
