Devotion 1 of 2: John 16
Jesus told his disciples he was leaving them, but it was good for them because the Holy Spirit would come and be their advocate (v.5-7). Among the many benefits of the Holy Spirit is the benefit that he would reveal what will happen in the future (v.13). I believe strongly that the Holy Spirit wants to tell the church about the future and the endtime because that’s one reason why God has sent him; it’s his job; it’s his mission! That’s why I’m speaking about the endtime almost every week—because the Holy Spirit wants us to know what will happen so he can prepare us for it! Let’s have ears to hear what the Spirit is trying to say to us about the coming days!

Devotion 2 of 2: Ps 94
When I read this psalm, I feel it applies so well with the war in Ukraine. At first, Russia was jubilant (v.3) because they easily defeated the Ukrainians and took the eastern and southern parts of the country. They crushed the Ukrainians (v.5) and murdered women and the fatherless (v.6). Then v.20 says, “Can a corrupt throne be allied with you—a throne that brings on misery by its decrees?” I paraphrase it this way: Can the church support a government that causes so much suffering by its actions? The answer should be “No!” But sadly, the Orthodox Church of Russia is in partnership with the Putin government! So I believe they will suffer some kind of punishment from God for supporting Putin’s war.
