Devotion 1 of 2: John 10
Islam is one of the greatest threats in the world today. I believe they will be identified with the False Prophet, who will work with the antichrist and persecute Christians in the endtime. Muslims recognize Jesus as a great prophet and teacher, but not as God or the Son of God. I have heard some of their scholars challenge Christians by saying Jesus never said he was the Son of God in the Bible! But Jesus does that in v.37, when he said, “Why do you accuse me of blasphemy because I said, ‘I am God’s Son’?” I believe it’s good to learn how to effectively evangelize Muslims!

Devotion 2 of 2: Ps 88
This must be one of the most depressive chapters in the whole Bible! The only positive verse I could find was v.1! The last 5 words of this psalm are: “darkness is my closest friend,” which are similar to the lyrics, ”Hello darkness, my old friend. I’ve come to talk with you again,” from the famous song, “Sound of Silence:”
One takeaway that I got from this psalm was that, even if we believe in God, sometimes we might go through a trial that can be very depressing! For example, I heard in the news that thousands of Ukrainians were tortured by Russian soldiers before being killed. I believe some of them were Christians. They must have cried out to God for deliverance, and some probably were miraculously rescued, but others were beaten or electrocuted and tortured to death! Did God fail them? No! Man does terrible things because of sin and evil within him! And sometimes we might be the victim of someone’s horrible acts! So what do we do? We must look to Jesus on the cross and pray to God for strength to never forsake him and for supernatural strength to even pray for our enemies! In the end, God will punish every sinful act and comfort every person who was treated unjustly.
