Devotion 1 of 2: 3 John 1
We see a sharp contrast between Gaius and Diotrephes. Gaius loved people, even strangers, and showed hospitality, promoting cooperation for the gospel (v.5-7). On the other hand, Diotrephes loved to be first, did not welcome people, even John, the apostle! He spread disinformation about John, and put people out of the church (v.9-10).

Devotion 2 of 2: Ps 84
Verses 5-7 are a mini-description of our journey of restoration. If we set our hearts on this pilgrimage, we will have strength (v.5). Though we pass through valleys, we turn it into a place of springs! The autumn or latter rains also cover our path with pools because we are living in the day of the latter rain! We will go from strength to strength, from revival to revival, until we are completely restored to the glorious church God has called us to be, which is Zion, David’s Tabernacle
