Devotion 1 of 2: Isa 12
Verse 1 says God was angry with Israel, but he turned away his anger and comforted them. God was angry toward Israel for rejecting and crucifying Jesus. So he allowed Israel to be destroyed as a nation and the Jews to be scattered all over the world. They suffered terribly, especially from the Nazis, with 6M being killed! But in the end, God gathered the Jews back to Israel, and they became a nation again, which is a tremendous comfort to them! One day they will believe in Jesus as their Messiah, and their restoration will be completed.

Devotion 2 of 2: Luke 12
The difference between the servants and the house owner is that the servants seem to know when their master will return as they are waiting for him and immediately open the door for him when he knocks (v.35-36). By contrast, the house owner doesn’t know when Jesus will return, like a house owner doesn’t know when a thief will come, so he gets broken into.
