In the battle against the enemies of Gibeon, Joshua commanded the sun and moon to stand still, and they did for almost a whole day (v.12-13)! I think God listened to Joshua’s words and did that awesome miracle because in 9:18-21, Joshua kept his promise to Gibeon, even though they had deceived him, and didn’t attack them, and even went to help them.

Devotion 2 of 2: Josh 9
The Gibeonites tricked Israel into believing they came from far away and got Israel to make a peace treaty with them (v.9-15). Even though Gibeon became servants to Israel as a result of using deception in the treaty, I think they did the right thing because otherwise, they would have been annihilated, just like all the other tribes in Canaan (10:40-42).
