Devotion 1 of 2: Ps 66

What a wonderful psalm of restoration this is! In v.1-9, David praises God for overcoming Israel’s enemies, like Egypt (v.3), and restoring Israel to the Promised Land, through crossing the Red Sea and the Jordan River (v.6)!
Then, v.10-12 show that God tested and refined Israel as silver through the hardships they experienced. All of Israel’s journey is a picture of the church being restored from a lukewarm to a revival church!
V.13-20 show David’s Tabernacle (DT), in which David is offering praise to God for answering his prayers! Let’s also praise God for restoring His church!

Devotion 2 of 2: Col 2

In this chapter Paul warns about the danger of being deceived by tradition, circumcision, foods, festivals, sabbaths, worship of angels, regulations, etc., which all lead back to bondage to legalism (v.8-23). On the contrary, if we repent from our hearts, Christ has forgiven our sins and removed the law by nailing it to the cross (v.11-15)!
Walking in the flesh or under legalism is always looking at our sins and failures and condemning ourselves, while walking in the Spirit is looking at the cross, repenting of our sins, and thanking Jesus for forgiveness! Let’s walk in the Spirit!
