Devotion 1 of 2: Josh 11
This chapter describes how Israel defeated many of the inhabitants of Canaan, as v.23 says, “So Joshua took the whole land…” Their only defeat was against Ai in chapter 7, because of the sin of Achan.
Israel entering and conquering Canaan is a picture of the LDR, with the church spreading revival around the world and leading hundreds of millions, perhaps billions of souls to salvation! But the defeat at Ai cautions us to never yield to the love of money, flesh or the world, or we will lose God’s presence and blessing!

本章は、第23節に「こうしてヨシュアは全地を取った」とあるように、イスラエルがカナンの住民の多くを打ち破った経緯を描写している。彼らの唯一の敗北は第7章におけるアイでの戦いであったが、それはアカンの罪によるものであった。
イスラエルがカナンに入り征服していく姿は終末リバイバルのひな型であり、教会が世界中にリバイバルを広め、数億人、あるいは数十億人もの魂を救いに導く姿を表している。しかし、アイでの敗北は、私たちが金銭、肉のもの、あるいは世の愛に決して屈してはならないことを警告するものである。さもなければ、私たちは神の臨在と祝福を失うことになるのである。
Devotion 2 of 2: Josh 12
Among the Canaanites whom Israel was commanded to defeat and exterminate were the giants who lived in Bashan, Ashtaroth and Edrei (v.4). The giants are also mentioned in Josh 13:12 and 17:15. They were 1st seen by the 12 spies who scouted the land and caused great fear and unbelief among the people in Num 13-14.
These giants symbolize AC and the giant doubts that our mind has against the great endtime plan that God has made to fulfill all His promises (John 14:12, etc.) and bring about world revival! Let’s believe we can overcome giants!

イスラエルが打ち破り滅ぼし尽くすよう命じられたカナンの民の中には、バシャン、アシュタロテ、エドレイに住んでいた巨人たちがいた（4節）。巨人はヨシュア13:12や17:15にも登場する。彼らは民13-14章で、その地を偵察した12人の探偵によって初めて目撃され、民の間に大きな恐れと不信仰をもたらした。
