Devotion 1 of 2: Josh 9
This chapter tells the story of the Gibeonites. They lied to Joshua, saying they were from far away and wanted to make a covenant with Israel because they had heard of how God gave them victory over Egypt and the Amorites (v.3-13). Joshua didn’t seek God about it, so he was deceived and made a covenant with them (v.14-15).
Jesus warned about endtime deception (Matt 24:4)! When Israel learned of the deception, they complained against Joshua (v.18), so he made the Gibeonites Israel’s slaves to punish them (v.21). Let’s always seek God so we don’t get deceived!
デボーション1/2：ヨシュア9章
本章はギベオン人の物語を伝えている。彼らはヨシュアに対し、自分たちは遠くから来たと言って偽り、神がエジプトやアモリ人に対してどのように勝利を与えたかを聞いたため、イスラエルと契約を結びたいと申し出た（3–13節）。ヨシュアはこれについて神に求めなかったため、欺かれて彼らと契約を結んだ（14–15節）。
イエスは終末の惑わしについて警告された（マタイ 24:4）！イスラエルは欺かれたことを知るとヨシュアに苦情を言ったため（18節）、ヨシュアはギベオン人を罰するためにイスラエルの奴隷とした（21節）。惑わされることがないよう、常に神に求める者であろう！
Devotion 2 of 2: Josh 10
After the mistake with Gibeon, the Lord granted Joshua the greatest natural miracle in world history in this chapter because Joshua honored his covenant with Gibeon! 5 kings attacked Gibeon, so Gibeon asked Joshua for help, according to their covenant (v.5-6). Joshua responded right away and God gave them victory (v.7-11)!
But Joshua wanted more time to complete the victory, so he commanded the sun and moon to stop, and they didn’t move for a whole day (v.12-14)! Let’s honor our promises, so we can exercise spiritual authority like Joshua!
デボーション2/2：ヨシュア10章
ギベオンとの失敗の後、ヨシュアがギベオンとの契約を重んじたため、主は本章において世界史上最大の自然の奇跡をヨシュアに授けられた。5人の王がギベオンを攻撃したため、ギベオンは契約に従ってヨシュアに助けを求めた（5–6節）。ヨシュアはすぐに応じ、神は彼らに大勝利を与えられた（7–11節）。
しかし、ヨシュアは勝利を完全なものとするためにより多くの時間を望んだので、太陽と月に留まるよう命じ、それらは丸一日動かなかった（12–14節）。ヨシュアのように霊的権威を行使できるよう、私たちも約束を果たす者になろう！
