Devotion 1 of 2: Ps 39
David wanted to not sin with his words (v.1), so he kept silence (v.2). But although he tried hard, in the end, he got hot inside, couldn’t hold back and often spoke out in anger (v.3)!
What David experienced is what all of us go through. As James 3:8 says, “But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.” I think this is one reason why God gave us tongues as the evidence of the baptism of the Holy Spirit. We speak in tongues by yielding to the Spirit! Let’s learn to yield daily to the Spirit!

ダビデは言葉で罪を犯したくなかったので（1節）、沈黙を守りました（2節）。しかし、どれほど努力しても、結局は内心熱くなり、抑えきれずにフラストレーションに任せて口を滑らせてしまうことがしばしばありました（3節）。
ダビデが経験したことは、私たち皆が経験することです。ヤコブ3:8にあるように、「舌を制御することは、だれにもできません。それは少しもじっとしていない悪であり、死の毒に満ちています。」これが、神が私たちに聖霊のバプテスマの証として異言を与えた理由の一つでしょう。聖霊に身を委ねることで異言を語るのです！日々、聖霊に身を委ねることを学びましょう！

Devotion 2 of 2: 1 Cor 7
We know that God created marriage and blesses it if a man and wife vow to love and care for each other.
But this chapter also talks about single living, which is also recognized and blessed by God. Why? One reason is because the single person can freely live to please the Lord (v.32). That’s why Paul said in v.1b, “It is good for a man not to touch a woman,” and in v.8b, “It is good if they remain even as I am.” Paul was single and could freely serve Jesus! Another reason is because the time is short (v.29), which is much truer today! The world will end soon!

神は結婚を創造し、夫婦が互いに愛し合い、思いやり合うことを誓うならば、それを祝福してくださることを私たちは知っています。
しかし、この章では独身生活についても語られており、それもまた神に認められ、祝福されています。なぜでしょうか？ 一つには、独身者は自由に主を喜ばせる生き方ができるからです（32節）。だからこそ、パウロは1b節で「男が女に触れないのは良いことだ」と言い、8b節で「･･･私のようにしていられるなら、それが良い」と言ったのです。パウロは独身で、自由にイエスに仕えることができました。もう一つの理由は、時が縮まっています（29節）。これは今日、より一層真実味を帯びています。世界は間もなく終焉を迎えるのです！
