Devotion 1 of 2: Ps 22
This psalm is a remarkable prophecy of Christ’s crucifixion. Here are some amazing prophecy details and their fulfillment in the NT. *V.1: Why forsake Me? (Matt 27:46). *V.7: People ridicule Me (Matt 27:41, 44). *V8: He trusted in the Lord, let Him rescue Him (Matt 27:43). *V.14: Poured out like water (John 19:34).
*V.16: Hands and feet pierced. Thomas confirmed Jesus’ nail marks (John 20:25-27; Luke 24:39-40). *V.18 Lots cast for garments (Matt 27:35). Hallelujah! Let’s thank Jesus for going to the cross for us!

Devotion 2 of 2: Rom 6
This chapter shows the believer’s position in Christ. Our old self was crucified and buried with Christ so that we no longer are slaves to sin, but are slaves of righteousness, walking in a new life (v.2-18).
If Rom 6 shows the believer’s position in Christ, Rom 7 shows the believer’s predicament, and Rom 8 shows the believer’s promise. The believer’s predicament is his daily struggle, defeat and misery against sin. He loses all hope (7:21-25)! But Rom 8 shows if he follows the Spirit, he can achieve his dream of victory over sin (8:1-8)!
