Devotion 1 of 2: Ps 9
The introduction of this psalm says it was written to the tune of “Death of the Son.” There are different opinions among Bible teachers, but I believe this refers to David and Bathsheba’s son, who died shortly after birth (2 Sam 12:15-19) or David’s son, Absalom, who was killed in his uprising against David (2 Sam 19:15).
Despite the anguish in David’s heart at his son’s death, I believe he looked up and praised God for victory over his enemies (v.1-8). At Bro. Shukunobe’s memorial service, his wife Yuko gave that kind of victory testimony, too!

Devotion 2 of 2: Mark 9
In v.1-13, we see the famous Mt. of Transfiguration story. I believe this is a prophetic vision of the LDR because of v.1, “…there are some standing here who will not taste death till they see the kingdom of God present with power.” Of course, Jesus was talking about Peter, James and John and the Mt. of Transfiguration.
So, what the 3 disciples saw on that mount was a picture of the kingdom of God present with power, which is what the LDC will be! The church will finally be what it is called to be! Let’s pray for it to come to pass!
