Devotion 1 of 2: Deut 5

I would divide the 10 Commandments into the 1st four as dealing with our relationship to God and the last 6 as dealing with our relationship with man. I would then link the 1st four to the greatest commandment, which is to love God (Matt 22:37) and the last 6 to the 2nd commandment, which is to love our neighbor as our own self (Matt 22:39).

Devotion 2 of 2: Mark 5

When people were saying Jairus’ daughter was dead and so he shouldn’t bother Jesus anymore, Jesus told him, “Don’t be afraid; just believe!” (v.36). This is the key to so many issues we face, but it’s so hard because everything we see is the opposite of what we are believing for! So Jesus put out all the unbelieving and allowed only the girl’s parents and his 3 closest disciples into the room (v.40). He shut out, cast out, threw out unbelief and allowed only faith in! Then he commanded the girl to get up (v.41), and she did (v.42)!
