Devotion 1 of 2: Gen 37
The meaning of Joseph’s 2 dreams was that he was called to be a ruler, and his family would bow before him. His faith in those dreams was tested by severe trials in which, instead of becoming a ruler, he became a slave, criminal and prisoner for 13 years, and yet, he still believed in his dream! We know this because when Pharaoh asked Joseph if he could interpret dreams, he replied that God will give the answer (Gen 41:16)! So Joseph interpreted Pharaoh’s dreams, and they came true, and he saved millions of lives from famine! Application: Through His Word, God shows us our calling to be rulers, too! But opposite things will happen that will test whether we really believe it or not! Let’s be like Joseph and believe God’s promises, and they will come to pass, and we will be used in the last day revival to save millions of lives!

Devotion 2 of 2: Gen 38
The tragedies that Judah’s family experienced were his two oldest sons died because of their wickedness (v.7, 9-10) and he unknowingly had physical relations with his daughter-in-law (v.13-18) and twins were born (v.27-30). So his family was a wreck! I think these things happened because Judah didn’t have love for his family and that was passed on to his sons. Judah’s lack of family love can be seen in his suggestion of selling his own brother, Joseph, as a slave (37:27). And then he moved away from his family, showing he didn’t want to live with them (38:1). But I believe through his own family’s tragedies, Judah realized his sinfulness and repented and changed! The next time we see him, he’s with his family again (43:3)! Then, when Joseph threatens to make Benjamin his slave (44:17), Judah offers himself instead to save his brother (44:33)! He showed Calvary love by laying down his life to save Benjamin! This was the reason that Jesus was born from the tribe of Judah!
