Devotion 1 of 2: Gen 3
V.6 shows man’s sin in disobeying God and eating the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil. And v.14-19 show the result of that sin as curses were declared on the serpent, woman and man (v.14-19).
The reason that Eve listened to the serpent and ate the fruit was because she wanted to be like God (v.5). But Satan’s way ended in a curse! The Bible shows us God’s way of restoring mankind to their original calling of being like God and ruling over the world. Let’s learn God’s way as we read the Bible this year!

6節は、人間が神に背き、善悪の知識の木の実を食べた罪を示しています。そして14-19節は、その罪の結果として、蛇と女と男に呪いが宣告されたことを示しています（14-19節）。
エバが蛇の言うことを聞いて木の実を食べた理由は、神のようになりたかったからです（5節）。しかし、サタンの道は呪いに終わりました。聖書は、人類を神のようになり、世界を支配するという本来の召命へと回復させる神の道を示しています。今年、聖書を読みながら、神の道を学びましょう。

Devotion 2 of 2: Gen 4
When God asked Cain in v.9, “Where is Abel your brother?” Cain answered, “I do not know. Am I my brother’s keeper?” Cain was wrong. In fact, he was supposed to be Abel’s keeper.
God has called every person to love his neighbor and be his keeper! This is the meaning of the 2nd commandment, to love your neighbor as yourself! That’s also what Shalom Church’s key Scripture for 2026, John 17: 22, is saying: “And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one.”

9節で神がカインに「あなたの弟アベルは、どこにいるのか」と尋ねたとき、カインは「知りません。私は、自分の弟の番人なのでしょうか」と答えました。カインは間違っていました。何故なら、彼はアベルの番人であるべきだったからです。
神はすべての人に隣人を愛し、隣人の番人となるように召されました！これが第二の戒め、「隣人を自分自身のように愛しなさい」という意味です。これは、シャローム教会の2026年の主要聖句であるヨハネ伝17:22にも記されていることです。「また私は、あなたが下さった栄光を、彼らに与えました。それは、私たちが一つであるように、彼らも一つであるためです。」
