Devotion 1 of 2: Amos 6

God warned northern Israel of judgment to come in v.14, but they didn’t repent and change! 14 ““But, behold, I will raise up a nation against you, O house of Israel,” says the Lord God of hosts; “And they will afflict you from the entrance of Hamath to the Valley of the Arabah.” This prophecy was fulfilled when Assyria invaded Israel.
Northern Israel and also the unbelieving Jews of southern Judah were like the Laodicean Church in Rev 3. They were neither hot or cold but lukewarm, so Jesus spat them out of His mouth. Lukewarm believers in the endtime will meet the same fate as the lukewarm Jews and Laodiceans—they will be deceived and follow AC!
Let’s be faithful to God and make Him No. 1 in our lives! Let’s love Him even more than our own life! And let’s pray for and reach out to our precious brothers and sisters to inspire them to surrender completely to Jesus!

Devotion 2 of 2: John 20

This chapter describes the events surrounding the resurrection of the Lord. One interesting verse is v.7, “and the handkerchief that had been around His head, not lying with the linen cloths, but folded together in a place by itself.“ Yesterday, I wrote I believed Jesus’ wounds on His head provided healing of mental illnesses.
Diseases in the mind can torture and rob a person of joy, peace and the feeling of self-worth. I believe the comment about the handkerchief that was on Jesus’ head being folded together in a place by itself symbolizes Jesus’ concern for those with mental disabilities and shows He knows and cares about their suffering.
Let’s seek God for healing for those suffering from psychological stress, breakdowns, disorders, etc., that are robbing them of a fulfilling life. Jesus suffered head wounds so that they can be set free! Let’s believe it and believe for breakthrough in miraculous healing of mental diseases!
