Devotion 1 of 2: Jer 8

Let’s look at v.7-9. The Lord speaks through Jeremiah that birds know their appointed times, but the Jews don’t know God’s judgment. Yes, the Jews believed that judgment and destruction wouldn’t come through Nebuchadnezzar because of their false prophets, but they were wrong.
Endtime application: Many Christians don’t know that believers will face testing and judgment through AC’s persecution and through entering the tribulation! They believe God will rapture the church before the tribulation and before AC, but, sadly, that teaching is wrong! So, although God has revealed His endtime plan through the Scriptures, like the Jews in Jeremiah’s time, many Christians still don’t understand it.
In v.8-9, many Jews were saying they were wise because they have the Law! But God said they were reading false teachings, and they were really rejecting His Word! This is true today, too, as many believers are reading pretrib rapture teaching books, and think they have God’s Word and teaching, but unwittingly, they are actual going against God’s Word. Let’s study the rapture and really understand it the right way! (2 Thes 2:1-12 is a key!)

Devotion 2 of 2: Acts 8

In this chapter, as a result of persecution, the gospel moves from Jerusalem to Samaria and then to Ethiopia!
Philip, who was one of the 7 deacons, went to Samaria, preached Christ, healed the sick and cast out spirits (v.5-7). The powerful effect of signs and wonders can be seen as multitudes saw the miracles and believed in Christ. This same effect will happen in the LDR when John 14:12 comes to pass, and believers do Jesus’ miracles.
The Spirit led Philip from a city revival to one man in the desert (v.26-27). It looked like a downgrade in ministry, but it was actually an upgrade because the man was an Ethiopian eunuch who got saved and took the gospel to his own country, and in 300 AD, Ethiopia became the 1st country to declare itself Christian! So, from a city, Philip reached a nation
Let’s always desire to be led by the Holy Spirit in life and ministry. He will always anoint us to bring forth fruit!
