Devotion 1 of 2: 2 Sam 13
From this chapter we see the judgment prophesied by Nathan over David for his sins begin to happen. Nathan said, “Out of your own household I am going to bring calamity on you” (12:11a). The 1st time this was fulfilled was when Amnon raped his half-sister Tamar, who’s also the sister of Absalom (v.14). It was a tragedy that erupted in David’s family!
Another prophecy about judgment was given in 12:10a, “Now, therefore, the sword will never depart from your house...” This came to pass when Absalom killed Amnon in v.28-29. More judgment upon David’s family will come in the following chapters.
One important point in this story is the lies and deceit that Jonadab, Amnon’s adviser, told him to use. When Amnon used them, he succeeded in violating Tamar (v.3-14). AC will use lies and deceit to get the world to follow him, so we must train ourselves to discern fake stories.
We were tested by a video of President Trump’s son Barron singing a gospel song on AGT (America’s Got Talent). A link was posted on our SI Line. Fortunately, Herol quickly warned us it was a fake, so we were protected from deceit! So, it’s happening right now! Let’s sharpen our senses to discern the false from the true!

この章から、ナタンがダビデの罪に対して預言した裁きが起こり始めるのがわかります。ナタンは言いました。「聞け。わたしはあなたの家の中から、あなたの上にわざわいを引き起こす。」（12:11a）。これが最初に成就したのは、アムノンが彼の異母妹でアブサロムの妹であるタマルを強姦したときでした（14節）。それはダビデの家族の中で起こった悲劇でした！
裁きに関する別の預言は12:10にあります。「今剣は、いつまでもあなたの家から離れない。あなたがわたしをさげすみ、ヘテ人ウリヤの妻を取り、自分の妻にしたからである。」これは、アブサロムが部下にアムノンを殺させたときに実現しました（28-29節）。ダビデの家族に対する裁きは、以降の章で続きます。
重要な点の1つは、ヨナダブがアムノンに助言した嘘と欺瞞の使用です。アムノンはそれを実行すると、タマルを犯すことに成功しました(3-14節)。反キは嘘と欺瞞を使って世界を従わせようとするので、私たちは嘘と欺瞞を見分ける訓練をしなければなりません。

Devotion 2 of 2: 2 Sam 14
This chapter describes some of the problems David had with his son Absalom. As the Elijah Church, we’re called to turn the hearts of fathers and children to each other, so let’s learn from this incident.
What were the causes of David and Absalom’s bad relationship? One big cause was David’s sin with Bathsheba. This led to prophecies of judgment against David’s family, which included Absalom (12:10-11).
Another cause was David’s son Amnon raping his half-sister Tamar, who was Absalom’s full sister. This led to Absalom hating, then killing Amnon (13:1-33). This sin of Absalom severely damaged his relationship with David.
Another cause was David’s complicated emotions of love, anger and shame toward Absalom, which made it hard for him to reconcile with Absalom. That’s why, when Absalom was in Geshur for 3 years and back in Israel for 2 years, David never saw him. Eventually, they did meet, but there was no reconciliation (13:38; 14:23-24, 33).
I believe David should’ve reconciled with Absalom by recalling how God had forgiven his own sins of adultery and murder. This was the only way of overcoming his anger toward Absalom and to forgive him for his rape and murder. If this had happened, I believe it would have healed Absalom’s heart and stopped his rebellion.

ダビデとアブシャロムの関係が悪かった原因は何だったのでしょうか。大きな原因の1つは、ダビデがバテシェバと犯した罪です。この罪により、アブシャロムを含むダビデの家族に対する裁きの預言が生まれました(12:10-11)。
もう一つの原因は、ダビデの息子アムノンが、異母妹タマル（アブシャロムの実の妹）を強姦したことです。このことは、アブシャロムがアムノンを憎み、殺す原因となりました(13:1-33)。その結果、アブシャロムとダビデの関係はひどく損なわれました。
もう一つの原因は、ダビデがアブシャロムに対して抱いていた愛、怒り、恥という複雑な感情により、アブシャロムとの和解が困難になったことです。アブシャロムがゲシュルに3年間滞在し、イスラエルに2年間戻ったとき、ダビデは一度も彼に会わなかったのはそのためです。結局、彼らは会いましたが、和解はありませんでした（13:38; 14:23-24、33）。
ダビデは、神が自分の姦淫と殺人の罪を赦してくださったことを思い出して、アブシャロムと和解すべきだったと思います。これが、アブシャロムに対する怒りを克服し、強姦と殺人を赦す唯一の方法でした。これが起こっていたら、アブシャロムの心は癒され、反抗をやめただろうと思います。
