Devotion 1 of 1: Ps 94
We see a common theme in many of the Psalms in v.1-3: “O Lord God, to whom vengeance belongs—O God, to whom vengeance belongs, shine forth! Rise up, O Judge of the earth; render punishment to the proud. Lord, how long will the wicked, how long will the wicked triumph?”
Not only in Bible days, but in our day, too, we often feel that evil is going unpunished, and the weak are suffering unjustly. One example of this is the crime of human sex trafficking. Thousands of women and girls are abducted yearly and funneled into the sex trafficking business. Many of them suffer horribly, are made into drug addicts, and are even killed when they are no longer needed.
Many of the abductors of the women, on the other hand, earn a lot of money and live a luxurious lifestyle without ever getting caught. How unjust this is—evil men prospering and innocent girls suffering!
When we read the Bible, however, we realize that this injustice will eventually be corrected. One day the whole human race will stand before the Great White Throne of God and face judgment for all the acts they committed in their lifetime. Rev 20:13b says, “…they (humanity) were judged, each one according to his works.” Then v.15 says, “And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.”
Injustice will not continue forever. One day evil will be punished. We should not be frustrated when we see wicked people seeming to prosper. Rather, we should pity them, for one day they will reap what they have sown.
JOHN 16: Free sharing!
Jesus said some important words in v.12-15, “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.”
Jesus was saying that timing is important in speaking truth. The Holy Spirit will reveal truths to the church according to when the time is right. Some examples of this are: People didn’t understand the righteous shall live by faith until 1517, and they didn’t understand the baptism of the Spirit and tongues until 1906, and they won’t understand God’s endtime plan for revival until we enter the last days.
The Holy Spirit will tell us things to come. This is what the Spirit is doing now. Let’s open our ears and our hearts so we will hear what He says about God’s plan for endtime revival, and let's believe it!
The Holy Spirit will glorify Jesus. Yes, the endtime revival will be the time of Jesus’ glory, power, love and presence being revealed to the whole world through the LDC! Jesus will save hundreds of millions, or even billions of souls by doing through the LDC the same miracles and healings that He did while on earth. John 14:12 will not be an empty, meaningless promise but a fulfilled promise that will glorify Jesus! Let’s believe this and do it!
