Devotion 1 of 1: Ps 89

In the Amplified Bible, v.15 is translated this way: “Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) are the people who know the joyful sound [who understand and appreciate the spiritual blessings symbolized by the feasts]; they walk, O Lord, in the light and favor of Your countenance!”
This translation interprets the joyful sound as the blowing of the trumpets on the feast days of Israel. When the people heard those trumpets, they got excited because they knew it meant the feasts of Passover, or Pentecost, or Tabernacles would begin!
In application to us, this verse means blessed and fortunate are the people who understand the spiritual blessings symbolized by the feasts because they will walk in the favor of the Lord!
I believe one meaning of understanding the spiritual blessings of the feasts is to realize the feasts are prophesying the restoration path of the church in this way: Passover = the Protestant Reformation in 1517, Pentecost = the Azusa St. Revival in 1906, and Tabernacles = the LDR in 20??
Let’s study the feasts to help us understand how God is restoring the church and what His endtime plan for the church and the world is!

JOHN 11: Free sharing!
We find the story of Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead in this chapter. I would like to apply 2 Pet 3:8 to this story and find some spiritual lessons. 2 Pet 3:8 “But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.” When we apply this Scripture to various stories in the Bible, precious hidden truths can be discovered.
V.6 says that after Jesus heard that Lazarus was sick, He waited 2 days before departing to raise him. I believe these 2 days could symbolize the 2000 years between that day and Jesus’ rapture coming to raise the dead believers and rapture them to heaven.
V.17 says that Jesus arrived and found out that Lazarus had been in the tomb for 4 days. These 4 days could represent the 4000 years between Adam’s fall and spiritual death at about 4000 BC to the coming of Jesus to earth to release mankind from spiritual death and give us eternal life instead.
Whether the above interpretation is truly from God or not may not be known until we go to heaven and ask God Himself. But, in the meantime, for me, it helps to answer the question of why did Jesus wait 2 days before departing to raise Lazarus? So that’s why I hold on to it.
Let’s continue to search God’s Word to discover its many wonderful truths.
